Fabiano Martignago

Born in Montebelluna (TV) in 1994, he graduated in 2012 in recorder with top marks at the Conservatorio A. Steffani in Castelfranco V.to (TV) and in 2015 he obtained the 2nd level academic diploma in musical disciplines – recorder, with top marks and honours, at the Conservatorio A. Pedrollo in Vicenza.

In 2009 he came in first at the I° Concorso Nazionale of recorder organized by E.R.T.A. (European Recorder Teachers’ Association) in Padova.

In 2011 he won as a soloist in the eighth edition of the Premio Nazionale delle Arti, section “Musica con strumenti antichi” in Benevento.

He has taken part in masterclasses, courses and workshops in early music and baroque music, perfecting his skills with Dan Laurin, Kees Boeke, Han Tol, Stefano Bagliano, Lorenzo Cavasanti, Manuel Staropoli and Alfredo Bernardini;

He has numerous concerts to his credit, in Italy and abroad (Austria, France, Switzerland, Spain, Albania), both with chamber music ensembles and as a soloist, with repertoires of ancient and baroque music; He has thus performed at important national and international concert series and music festivals, including the ‘Steirisches Kammermusik Festival’ in Graz (Austria), the 15th ‘Musique de Chambre’ Festival in Beausoleil (France), ‘Ghislierimusica’ in Pavia, ‘Settimane Barocche’ in Brescia, ‘L’Orecchio di Giano’ in Rome, ‘Monteverdi Festival’ in Mantua, ‘Wunderkammer Festival’ in Friuli Venezia Giulia, etc.

In 2013 he performed in a live concert from the Sala Assunta of Vatican Radio and participated, as flutist, in the recording for RAI of the programme ‘Indagine su Giorgione’ at the Casa Giorgione Museum in Castelfranco V.to (TV).

He collaborates with various ensembles, including the ‘Il Pomo D’Oro’ Orchestra, the ‘Collegium Pro Musica’ Ensemble, ‘Arco Antiqua’, ‘RossoPorpora’ and ‘Venice Music Project’;

He has participated in recordings for Brilliant Classics, Warner Classics & Erato, Glossa and La Bottega Discantica;

In 2019, he and Luca Ventimiglia recorded a CD of duets by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier published for Brilliant Classics; together they also founded the ensemble ‘La Mirandola’.

Since 2020 he has been a member of the recorder quartet ‘IRQ’ directed by Lorenzo Cavasanti.

Since 2018 he has been teaching recorder at the Conservatorio ‘G. Braga’ in Teramo and since 2020 also at the Conservatorio ‘A. Pedrollo’ in Vicenza.
