Through madrigals, arias, toccatas and songs of one of the most important authors of the beginning of the 600s in Italy, this programme offers a general look on the vocal and instrumental repertoire of this period, performed in the style of famous interpreters such as Giulio Caccini, Francesco Rasi, Jacopo Peri and many others, who would accompany themselves with the baroque guitar or theorbo, an instrument which developed in those years meant for accompanying of voices and the playing of basso continuo, but thanks to the ingenious authors such as Kapsberger, Piccini and Castaldi, it began to be appreciated even more as a soloist instrument.
