Cristina Vidoni

Born in Udine, she began studying the cello at the age of six with Prof. E. Francescato. Under his guidance, she graduated in 2009 from the “J. Tomadini” Conservatoire with top marks, cum laude and a special mention.

From 2011 she continued her studies in Switzerland, joining the class of R. Rosenfeld at the Musik Hochschule in Basel, where she was awarded a Master’s degree in Music Performance in 2013. Her interest in the Baroque cello began through W. Vestidello and the many courses he led, and it developed further within Basel’s stimulating musical environment. Her time at the Schola Cantorum, studying with C. Coin and P. Skalka, concluded in 2015 with a second Master’s degree in Music Performance, specialising in “Violoncello in Alte Mensur”.

In 2014 she performed with the Quatuor Mosaïques at the opening concert of the Palazzetto Bru Zane season in Venice, and in 2016 she appeared as a soloist at the Festival de Sablé, alongside Ophélie Gaillard, Marco Frezzato and Vladimir Waltham, in a programme devoted entirely to A. Vivaldi’s cello concertos.

She has taken part in numerous masterclasses with M. Ceccato, M. Valli and M. Testori, and regularly collaborates with Baroque ensembles including Il Pomo d’Oro, Ensemble Café Zimmermann, Les Ambassadeurs, Ars Musica Zürich (Sabrina Frey), Accordone Ensemble (Guido Morini), Cappella Neapolitana (Toni Florio) and Ensemble Pulcinella (Ophélie Gaillard).
