In 1770, during a visit to Venice’s Ospedaletto, Charles Burney was captivated by the voice of the figlia di coro Laura Conti. This concert rediscovers music written for her through the research of musicologist Marica Tacconi, who reconstructed her life from archival records. The program features sacred and secular works by Traetta, Anfossi, and Sacchini, including pieces transcribed from original manuscripts.
The concert will be introduced by Professor Marica Tacconi’s lecture at 6.30 pm (in Italian) and 6.45pm (in English).
