Amid the waters and calli of the Serenissima, voices emerged that rose beyond the boundaries of their time. From the Lamento di Arianna by Claudio Monteverdi to the songs of Barbara Strozzi and Maddalena Casulana, the song of Venetian sirens still lives on today.
